Cancelling Dropbox is straightforward, but the storage drop is the catch. When the subscription ends, your account reverts to the free 2 GB Dropbox Basic plan. Anything over that limit needs to be moved or deleted.
Dropbox subscriptions are managed through the account settings on the web. Business plans are slightly different - the admin cancels or downgrades the team plan - but personal plans follow the same path.
For Dropbox Business, only the team admin can cancel or downgrade. The admin signs in at dropbox.com, goes to Admin console → Billing, and cancels or downgrades the plan. Team members cannot cancel the subscription individually.
When your paid Dropbox plan ends, your account becomes Dropbox Basic with 2 GB of storage. If you are using more than 2 GB, Dropbox will not delete your files immediately, but syncing stops and you cannot add new files until you are under the limit. You have time to download or move files, but the sooner you do it the better.
